About Me

Luke

Your Trainer

Fitness has been a huge part of my life from a very young age. Sports have brought me many opportunities in life from playing soccer in Spain to playing football for the University of Guelph. As a young athlete improving in sport had been one of my main motivators.

I am passionate about learning and improving myself and teaching others how lose weight or build muscle and strength, while becoming more mobile so we can all stay athletic and do the activities we for the rest of our lives. Without any crazy training plans or diets.

I became a trainer after a I tore my ACL as a football player. As funny as it sounds tearing my ACL may be one of the better things that has happened to me because I am not sure if I would have found my passion for training otherwise. Since then I have worked with national league soccer/football players in Europe, D1 Colligate athletes and University of Guelph Soccer, Rugby, Volleyball and basketball players.

Even if you have never been an athlete I believe that everyone deserves to be able move well while being strong and resilient for life.

Thanks to Luke and JM Training, this yo-yo dieter/exerciser has found a sustainable way to live a healthy and fit lifestyle. I have a history of dropping lots of weight using extreme measures which I was never able to maintain and always put the weight back on. When I started this journey, my goal was to find a way to lose weight and get stronger without it taking over my life. I didn’t realize that you could lose weight at a decent pace without having to go all out all the time. Luke has showed me that I can.

I lost 22lbs in my first 11 weeks at JM Training and am still going strong. I feel so much better overall. I’ve found my confidence again, my relationships (with myself and with others) have improved, and my energy levels have skyrocketed. Most importantly, I feel like a better role model for my daughter.

That said, I still have evenings of drinks and dinners with friends, I still satisfy chocolate cravings and I still have lazier weeks where I don’t get in all the workouts in that I had hoped I would. Luke helps me power through the moments that are a little tougher and reassures me that these things are not necessarily bad things when done in moderation. This mindset shift has been a game changer.

I need to give Luke a shout out. Always the professional, really knows his stuff, super encouraging, a great listener, so lovely to chat with, so encouraging and clearly very passionate about what he does. He gives me all the tools I need to succeed and is flexible enough to tailor our approach based on what works best for my lifestyle. I always look forward to my workouts with him and feel like he really makes the most out of our time together. He keeps me accountable and helps me stay on track.

This is the real deal. I’ve worked with a trainer or two in the past and while they were lovely, this is a whole next level. They really do tailor your program to you. And they can do this because they take the time to discuss goals, challenges, do weigh-ins/measurements/photos, have conversations about how it’s going, reflect on goals on an ongoing basis and celebrate meaningful milestones with you.

I’ve never experienced anything like what this group offers and I highly recommend anyone looking to make this kind of investment into themselves work with this team.

When I started looking into personal training as an option it was because I really wanted to form healthy habits that I could actually stick to and also lose some weight to feel healthier overall. I had always struggled with maintaining workout routines or gym memberships and generally found working out unenjoyable. When my partner and I started working with Luke he asked a lot of questions about our goals and what was important to us in this journey to better understand how to work with us.

He created work outs specially designed for us and our limitations/goals. The workouts he designed for in person changed each time and we were given new home workouts every month which kept things interesting. The regularly scheduled sessions and weigh ins helped keep us accountable but working with Luke and doing his workouts made the whole experience an enjoyable one.

We both saw and felt results that we were incredibly happy with and have built lasting habits as a result. We also transitioned into doing some group sessions and all the staff are wonderful, the classes are challenging but the environment is super approachable and welcoming. If you have limitations, they will happily modify exercises to suit your needs.

I cannot recommend Luke and the whole team enough!

Man, there is so much to say about Luke that I can not fit into just a few paragraphs. The love, care, and knowledge he gives to his clients are unmatched. When I reached out to Coach Walton, I thought I wouldn't get a text back, and if I did, this fantastic, famous coach would charge me a hefty amount. However, I was shocked; he answered in a matter of 20 minutes early in the morning, and asked questions to get background information about me that day and made a program for me right away! On top of that it didn't cost a lot of money! Coach Walton is doing this to help not for anything else. He loves helping people and making sure they can achieve the goals you give him on the first day. Through my training, I gained an insane amount of strength, knowledge, and much more.

With his training, I was able to get D1 schools to connect me as a FRESHMAN. Schools like Brown, Lehigh, Yale, UNLV, and Kent State all in one month. To sum this up, Luke is a great coach, and the time you have him as your coach will be the best time for you!

As a division 1 athlete I’m always looking for edges on my opponents and after working with coach Luke it’s safe to say that his training is that edge I was looking for, structured and intentional training is key for anyone’s success especially mine.

My biggest goal working with coach was to become a stronger and faster athlete. Unsurprisingly I accomplished both goals I shaved 0.2 seconds off my 20 yard dash and added 40 pounds to my bench press in just two months. With that being said I would recommend to any athletes that want to reach the next level! As well as anyone that wants to take their health and fitness to the next level!
